John Joseph Motzi, Sr.

John Joseph Motzi, age 89, of Newburyport, died Friday, August 18, 2023 at Highpoint House in Haverhill. He was the beloved husband of Linda (Murphree) Motzi, with whom he enjoyed 52 years of marriage. 

Born on August 6, 1934 in Everett, MA. He was the son of the late John Francis Motzi and Susie Mabel (Beatrice) Motzi. 

John had a long career in the printing industry, working 57 years for Fidelity Press and its successor company DS Graphics. He served in the Air National Guard reserves. John was a member and past officer of the North End Boat Club. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing and spending time in nature. John was a car enthusiast and enjoyed owning and driving his many vehicles throughout his lifetime.  He was a lover of animals and loved his many dogs though the years. 

In addition to his wife, Linda of Newburyport and his dog Bennie, he is survived by his son, John Motzi, Jr. and wife, Crescentia of Downingtown, PA; daughter Helene (Motzi) Alland and husband Michael V. Berry of Saint Augustine, FL; grandsons John Yukon Motzi and wife Alanna of Houston, TX and Simon J. Alland and his wife Kaitlyn of Somersworth, NH and great-granddaughter Alessandra Motzi along with many nieces and nephews, dear friends Jeff and Joan Molloy along with many others and extended relatives. He will be missed by them all. 
He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Bernice Motzi. 

Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Monday August 28, 2023 at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. His graveside service will follow the calling hours at Belleville Cemetery in Newburyport.

In lieu of flowers, instead, donations in his memory may be made to the Dementia Society of America or MSPCA.
