John Burrell Obituary

John “Jack” Arden Burrell,74, of Newburyport, Massachusetts passed on September 7th at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Brighton, Massachusetts after several weeks of failing health.

Born in Peabody, Massachusetts on September 14, 1945 to the late Adin Arden and Marjorie (Daley) Burrell, he worked as a Master Barber in several shops on the North Shore before finding his way to Phil's Barber Shop in West Roxbury, Massachusetts. There he was happiest establishing relationships with customers who became more like family.

When Jack wasn't working, he could be found doing yardwork for a daughter, checking the oil in a grandson's car or simply looking for an excuse to have the next family gathering.

Jack will be profoundly missed by his extensive family composed of his wife, Melinda (Reardon); his seven children: Tracy, Kim, Bill, Melissa, Jaclyn, Robert and John; and his eleven grandchildren: Nick,  Brie, Kyle, Dan, Michael, Dylan, Noah, Jack, Padraic, Rylee and Emily. He is also survived by his four brothers: Gerry, Phil, James and Kevin Burrell. His brother, Robert Burrell, preceded him in death.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours to be held on Sunday, September 13, 2020 from 4 to 8 PM at the Twomey, LeBlanc & Conte Funeral Home, 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950.
