John Geoffroy Bouchard, 62 of Wareham, MA died on September 28, 2024, after a long illness in Wareham, MA.
He was born on April 27, 1962, to Jean and Annette Bouchard in Boston, MA. He grew up in Hamilton, MA and lived on the north shore for many years before moving to Wareham, MA
He worked for many years as a union laborer and a union carpenter. He enjoyed all kinds of carpentry, tile work and other projects.
He was an avid hunter, fisher, golfer, computer expert. He loved to cook. John enjoyed spending time at his parents’ second home in Sweden, Maine, where they later retired, after living in Hamilton, MA for over 40 years.
John loved the Fryeburg Fair. He enjoyed going there every year. He was at peace being in the woods, hunting, and fishing with his Dad and brother David. He enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved new adventures and had a gift for making people laugh.
John had been in the hospital for almost a year and was so happy to have come home on September 24, 2024. His time was short, as he passed unexpectedly when he had just begun to settle in. During his illness, he was at Tobey Hospital in Wareham, MA, Charleton Hospital in Fall River, MA and Vibra Hospital in New Bedford, MA. A special thanks to the nurses, staff, and doctors who took care of him during this difficult time.
John is survived by his mother Annette Bouchard, his brother David Bouchard, his friend Nancy Schneider, several aunts, uncles, and cousins. John was predeceased by his father Jean Bouchard who passed away on July 3, 2015.
Family and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass at 10:30 am on October 5, 2024, at the Immaculate Conception Church at 42 Green Street, Newburyport, MA 01950. A private burial will be held at a later date, in Sweden, Maine. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950 is assisting Mr. Bouchard’s family with his arrangements.
