Joan, (Joanne), Comick passed away peacefully at age 91 on Friday, September 8th at the Care-One in Randolph, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late John, (Jack), Comick who passed away June 20, 1999.
Born in Watertown, MA on February 17, 1932, Joanne was the youngest of 9 children of the late William and Elizabeth Glossa. She was a graduate of The Rosary Academy in Watertown, MA.
Joanne, a long-time resident of Newburyport worked for many years as an administrative assistant at the Rupert A. Nock Middle School retiring in 1992.
Joanne enjoyed spending time with her many brothers and sisters and their families. She also enjoyed ceramics, painting, arts and crafts, and spending time gardening with her husband, Jack. Joanne loved being involved in her son’s lives at home and volunteering for many years at the Immaculate Conception School. Joanne’s love of spending time with her family continued with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Joanne is survived by her three sons and their wives, Michael and Monika Comick of Carefree AZ; Kevin and Debbie Comick of Hull, MA; David and Leslie Comick of Brunswick, ME; beloved grandchildren, Andrew Comick of Tempe, AZ; Dr. Ryan and Allison Fredericks of Seattle, WA, Jonathan and Rachel Comick of Great Falls, VA, Jeremy and Jennifer Zukas of Burke, VA; Greg and Melissa Dodd of Canton MA; Daniel Comick of Brunswick, ME; and dearest great grandchildren, Noelle, Penny, Jack, Evelyn, Liam, Molly, Nora, and Henry.
Family and friends are invited to Mrs. Comick’s Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM on Monday September 18, 2023 at Immaculate Conception Church, followed by burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery both in Newburyport. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950 is assisting with her funeral arrangements.
