Jennifer Roy of Newburyport, Massachusetts passed away on April 14, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Jennifer was born in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. A lifelong learner and educator, she obtained degrees and certifications in mathematics and education from Vanderbilt University, John’s Hopkins University, Catholic University and American University. She taught middle school mathematics in Montgomery County, Maryland ultimately becoming a curriculum developer in mathematics for the Montgomery County School District. In 2010, she followed her husband to Brussels, Belgium. While living in Brussels, she learned to speak Flemish and developed her talents as a cook and a self-proclaimed “Lady of Leisure”. She enjoyed traveling and learning about new cultures and their cuisines; fortunately, she had many opportunities to do both.
Jennifer leaves behind her devoted husband Jonathan, her daughter Allyson, her parents John and Joyce (Joy) Williams, her brother Jay Williams, brother-in-law Sean Roy, and her beloved little dog Chloe. Her loving and cheerful presence will be missed by her extended family and many friends around the world.
A private remembrance is planned for later this summer at her family’s home in Northern Michigan. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950 is assisting Jennifers family with her funeral arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to her memorial at MSPCA, a charity she was very dedicated to after adopting her Chloe.
