Jeffrey A. Pfeiffer

Jeffrey A. Pfeiffer of Newburyport passed away on July 1, 2022 at the age of 70.

The son of the late Theodore and Ann Pfeiffer, Jeff was born and raised in New Jersey but Massachusetts soon became his forever home, settling in Newburyport with his family after spending time in both Rockport, MA and southern California.

Jeff spent his formative years shadowing his grandfather, learning how to fix everything from a car engine to a leaky toilet.  Those early life lessons of ingenuity and precision helped to shape his passions, both professionally and personally.  After graduating from Lowell Tech with a degree in Industrial Technology (followed by an MBA at SNHU) he forged a successful career in mechanical engineering, most recently serving as the General Manager of MacDiarmid Precision Machining in Newburyport.  

Jeff had a life-long love for music, an avid guitar player who practiced daily; he enjoyed going to see local artists perform and over the years amassed an impressive guitar collection.  He also loved to build and problem solve, always prepared with a mini tool kit in his pocket and his famous mechanical pencil.  He took pride in completing projects of all sizes around his house and was the first person his daughters would call when they needed help in their home.  Later in life his grandchildren knew that when “Papa” helped with a science fair project, it was sure to win top honors.   

Jeff is preceded in death by his loving wife of 44 years, Nancy Pfeiffer, and is survived by their 3 daughters, Jennifer Sackler of Seabrook, Erin Upton of Amesbury and Gretchen Pfeiffer of Newburyport.  He also leaves behind 5 grandchildren, Joshua Sackler (23), Emily Sackler (20), Kellan Upton (12), Finley Upton (9) and Cashel Hogan (17 mo) as well as his sister and brother in law, Thea and Scott Sherman of Freehold, NJ.

Jeff’s family will be celebrating his life with a memorial service at the Twomey, LeBlanc, and Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950 on Friday, July 8, 2022 at 10:30am. THERE IS NO LONGER ANY PARKING AVAILABLE BEHIND THE FUNERAL HOME PER ORDER OF THE CITY OF NEWBURYPORT.
