Janet K. Ryan

Janet K. Ryan, 75, passed away late Friday evening July 30, 2021 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. She was born in Breckenridge, MN on October 31, 1945 to the late John and Violet (Nelson) Anderson. Janet was raised in Rosholt, SD, and was a graduate of Rosholt High School. She continued her education graduating from Bemidji State University, and later earned her nursing degree from Northern Essex Community College.

As a Registered Nurse Janet was employed by Beverly Hospital for over 30 years before her retirement in 2011. She was a volunteer at Opportunity Works, and a member of Anna Jaques Aid Association, and was very proud to be Head of the Art Wall installations. In her spare time she enjoyed skiing at Gunstock Mountain, golfing at Pease Golf Course, tending to her flower garden, and painting in watercolor.

Janet will be dearly missed and is survived by her husband, William “Jerry” Ryan of Byfield; children, Keith J. Ryan and his wife Alison Bailes of NY, Kimberly A. Ryan and her partner Mike Aponick of Newburyport, and John W. Ryan and his wife Izumi of NY; grandchildren, Agatha, Frederick, and Alika Ryan; sisters, Reneé Bergstrom and her husband Gene of MN, and Lana Sand and her husband Paul of SD; as well as several nieces and nephews. Janet was predeceased by her siblings, Philip Anderson and Jean Hruby.

Family and friends are invited to her Funeral Service at 10:00 AM on August 27, 2021 at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. **At the family's request, anyone attending Mrs. Ryan's Service is asked to please wear a mask inside.** Burial will be private at a later date. THERE IS NO LONGER ANY PARKING AVAILABLE BEHIND THE FUNERAL HOME PER ORDER OF THE CITY OF NEWBURYPORT.
