Jane (McNamara) O'Keefe

O’Keefe, Jane I of Newburyport MA & Hampton Beach NH, formally of Lexington MA died suddenly with her family by her side on Sunday July 23, 2023. Daughter of the late James & Grace McNamara. Devoted wife of the late Col. Robert W O’Keefe for 59 years, loving mother to Robert Jr. and his wife Karen of Chelmsford, Kerry Daley of Lexington, Michael of Billerica, and Patricia O’Leary and her husband Daniel of Newburyport. Cherished grandmother of Kailagh, Courtney & Kathleen O’Keefe, John, Bryan & Kate Daley, Matthew & Meaghan O’Leary. Sister-in-law to C. Patricia O’Keefe of Worcester. She was predeceased by her 9 brothers & sisters.

Jane was born and raised in Worcester, met and was married to the love of her life Bob in 1953. While he was serving in the Air Force for 26 years, they traveled the world together. They settled in Lexington where they raised their four children. Jane thrived being the perfect homemaker and was always there for her family, which was most important to her. Summering in Hampton Beach for over 50 years, she was an icon on her front porch, always greeting the passersby on their way to the beach. She was the best mother and grandmother, an avid reader and loved her crossword puzzles.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Thursday, July 27, at 10:30 a.m. in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Green Street, Newburyport. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Newburyport. Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Twomey, LeBlanc & Conte Funeral Home, 193 High St., Newburyport.
