James S. "Jimmy" Gaudette

James S. “Jimmy” Gaudette, 77 of Salisbury passed away Friday morning July 5, 2019 at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport. He was born in Haverhill, MA on February 5, 1942 to the late James J. and Frances M. (Gordon) Gaudette.

Raised in Haverhill, Jim was a graduate of Haverhill Trade School. Following his graduation Jim enlisted in the US Navy and served our country proudly during the Vietnam War. He returned home after his honorable discharge, met and married his wife Sandra Jean. The couple settled in Salisbury where they raised their family. Jim worked as a Highway Foreman with the Massachusetts Highway Department for 26 years prior to his retirement in 2002.

In his retirement, Jim enjoyed puttering in his yard, keeping up with the landscaping, shopping, and decorating for the holidays.

Jim is survived by: his wife of 45 years Sandra Gaudette, sons:  Frederick and Mark Gaudette,  Mark’s wife Jamie (Durrell) Gaudette and their son Ian, his sister Betty Allen and her husband George, his Brother in Law Willam McGirr, as well as his nieces and nephews:  Paul, Donna, Tommy, George, Henry, Lisa, Cheryl, and Arthur.  Jim was predeceased by his sisters, Mary Giuntini, Shirley LaChance, Art McGirr, Georgene Goodrich, and his nephews:  Mike, Wally, and Rusty.

Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Tuesday July 9, 2019 at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. His funeral service will immediately follow the calling hours in the Funeral Home. Burial will then take place in Longhill Cemetery in Salisbury. THERE IS NO LONGER ANY PARKING AVAILABLE BEHIND THE FUNERAL HOME PER ORDER OF THE CITY OF NEWBURYPORT.
