Helene Foster Obituary

Helene B. (Patnaude) Foster, 85, of Berwick, Maine passed away peacefully early Friday morning, June 18, 2021. Helene was born on October 21, 1935 in Everett, MA to her late parents Margaret King and Harry Flanders.

Helene was raised in Beachmont, MA and spent most of her life in Massachusetts. Although she spent some time in Florida and Maine, she would always call Massachusetts home and would always support the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots wherever she lived!

Helene was always happiest creating things from Christmas centerpieces for the annual Foster party to gingerbread houses to food. She loved cooking and baking for family and friends and was known for her elaborate cake decorating. She loved traveling aboard with her niece, sister and mother, creating unforgettable memories. Helene most enjoyed sitting outside with a cup of coffee and watching the nature around her. She could always find the birds singing in the trees. She loved butterflies, ladybugs, giraffes and, although she would never admit it, dogs. She enjoyed spending time on the beach, especially Revere Beach where she grew up. She enjoyed the theater, even volunteering her time at the North Shore Music Theatre so she wouldn’t miss a show.

Helene was a kind, loving mom, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother. She was most proud of being a grandmother to five grandchildren and a great-grandmother. She loved spending time with all of them, from watching them enjoy their sports, to horseback riding, to just watching them play and enjoy life. Helene was so proud of the amazing adults Ashley, Chris and Jake had become and was proud of their own families they were beginning to grow.

Helene was well loved and will be remembered and missed by many. Her memory will live on through all the lives she touched.

Helene is preceded in death by her husband, G. Robert Foster, her daughter Margaret Foster, her sister Louise and brother Richard. She is survived by her daughter Shirley Foster and son-in-law Jonathon Seavey of Berwick, her son Robert Foster and daughter-in-law Sharren of Newburyport, MA, and niece Elia Flinkfelt and nephew John Flinkfelt and his wife Mary of Milford, MA. She leaves behind five grandchildren Ashley, Christopher, Jake, Kaitlyn and Molly, and a great granddaughter, Lydia.
