Helen Clarkson Obituary

Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Lifelong Librarian

Helen Clarkson, 83 of Newburyport, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully in Fremont, New Hampshire. She leaves behind a legacy of love, curiosity, and kindness.

Helen is survived by her loving children, David (son) & Kathy Clarkson, Danette Clarkson (daughter) & Sami Sanborn, and Greg Clarkson (son); her cherished grandchildren, Johnathan and Alexandria; and her devoted brother, Robert Sadowski. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack, and her dear sister, Doreen Sadowski.

A dedicated librarian for over 30 years, Helen nurtured generations of readers through her work at the town of Boxford Massachusetts, in the Newburyport High School, and the Emma L. Andrews Branch Library in Newburyport. Her passion for learning and literature touched countless lives.

Helen found joy in the simple pleasures: gardening, painting, and encouraging others to discover the magic of books. She was a quiet force of wisdom, creativity, and care—someone who made the world a little brighter with her presence.

Helen’s love of learning lives on in every page turned and every flower in bloom, she will be greatly missed.
