Helen Chateauneuf Obituary

Helen Marie Chateauneuf, 78, of Amesbury Massachusetts, passed away peacefully in her home on June 26, 2026. Born in Somerville Massachusetts on February 25th, 1948 to Frederick and Charlotte Sauer. Helen grew up in the Boston area and eventually met the love of her life, Raymond Chateauneuf. The two married and went on to have two sons whom they both cherished. They opened B&R glass in Newburyport Massachusetts in 1972. This small family owned and operated business is where Helen worked along side her sons. 

Helen was known by those who knew her best as a woman of strength, intelligence, and solitude. Helen solely maintained her eight acre farm in Amesbury Massachusetts that she purchased with her late husband in 1995. Helen loved country music and the farm lifestyle. Owning many animals over the years including horses, goats, donkeys, and even rabbits for a period of time. She loved riding her beloved horse Keeper with her long time friend, Linda Hiltunen. Helen and Linda went on many adventurous road trips over the years, often having no solid plans but a general idea of a destination. 

Helen also enjoyed spending time with her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. Especially her granddaughter Chloe, whom she had a very special bond with.

Helen leaves behind her two sons, Keith Chateauneuf and Brad Chateauneuf, both of Amesbury Massachusetts. Her grandchildren, Chloe Tellier-Atwood, her Husband James, and their two children Nova and Oliver of Raymond New Hampshire. Quinn Chateauneuf and her fiancé Dan Breton of Salisbury Massachusetts. Kenneth Chateauneuf of Amesbury Massachusetts. Tara Aziz, her wife Sandra and their daughter Charlotte of Los Angeles California.  

Helen was predeceased by her beloved husband Raymond Chateauneuf as well as her sister Charlotte "Snookie" Webber. 

A celebration of life will be held at a later date for those who knew and loved Helen. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950 is assisting Mrs. Chateauneuf’s family with her arrangements.
