Gordon Graham Obituary

Gordon B. Graham, 98, formerly of Randolph died peacefully Saturday, August 1, 2020. He was born in Paterson, NJ to Joseph W. Graham and Florence (Bellows) Graham.

He attended High School in White Plains, NY and enjoyed hanging around with his lifelong friend, David Griggs. He attended Cornell University and earned a degree in Electrical Engineering at Brown University. He was also a licensed Professional Engineer.

He married Evelyn Jaques, who he met at the Grange Hall in Rowley, Mass, on September 4, 1949 in Newbury, Mass. They had 70 wonderful years together.

He worked on the Polaris Missile and the F4U Corsair Plane. He loved telling the story about a large airplane taking off on a short runway. He started the Electrical Engineering program at Vermont Agricultural and Technical Institute (now VTC). He ran the Radio Club at VTC and was also a member of the University Club. He was active in the Randolph Players Group in the 1960’s. He was always working on a project such as autos, woodworking, watch repair, oil painting and electrical work. He particularly loved the family get togethers. He had a keen interest in trains and enjoyed watching the trains with his grandchildren from his back porch.  He also enjoyed his trips to various downtown businesses and the Herald Office on Thursdays for his newspaper. He was well known around town.

He is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn Graham, Son Gordon Graham and wife Heidi, daughter Polly Hunt and husband Clark, son Robert Graham and wife Rachel and son David Graham and wife Mary. Granddaughters’ Rebecca Ricketts and husband Chris, Gillian Graham and husband Robin Sleith, Ashley Wakefield and husband Chris, Britney Graham, Fiona Graham, Olivia Graham and grandson Alex Graham. A great granddaughter Adalee Wakefield and a great grandson Ronan Sleith. And many nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements are being made by Day Funeral Home and Twomey, LeBlanc & Conte Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to Gordon’s graveside service at Oak Hill Cemetery in Newburyport, MA on August 12, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.
