Gary Edward Bowlen, 57, of Salisbury, MA, passed away on April 28, 2026, at home with family by his side. Gary was born on December 4, 1968, at Anna Jaques hospital in Newburyport, MA to Jean Ann (Morrill) Bowlen and the late Robert Lloyd Bowlen of Salisbury, MA.
Gary attended Whittier Vocational Highs School and graduated with a degree in small engine repair. He utilized his education to operate and own his own landscaping business later in life. His sense of humor and dependability will be remembered by all who knew him.
Gary began his working career as a young boy at the Rusnik Campground in Salisbury, MA, where he was mentored in maintenance and sanitation. Gary also worked for the Salisbury DPW and volunteered for the Civil Defense.
Gary enjoyed being outdoors in all seasons of weather. His energy and love outdoors led him to begin his own landscaping business where he would be up at dawn and would end his day after dark.
Gary is survived by his son, Gary William Bowlen; his beloved companion, Dianne Warwick; his stepdaughter, Nicole Snipes; mother, Jean Bowlen; siblings, Nancy Bowlen, Jennifer Figueredo, and Robert Bowlen Jr.; and many loved nieces and nephews.
Gary is preceded by his father, Robert Lloyd Bowlen.
Services for Gary will be held at the East Parish United Methodist Church, 8 Lafayette Rd, Salisbury, MA on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 11:00am. A celebration of life will follow in the church hall. All are welcome.
