Gardner Fowler Obituary

Our brother/father Gardner L. Fowler, passed away unexpectedly Saturday April 29, 2023 in Haverhill. He was born in Newburyport on September 5, 1965 to the late Phyllis M. (Dennis) and Gordon L. Fowler, Sr. He was raised in Newburyport and was a graduate of Newburyport High School class of ’83. Following his graduation Gardner went right to work. He was an extremely hard working painter & laborer in the construction field. He was employed at several of his families businesses over the years.

Gardner was an avid fisherman and enjoyed a good game of Bingo. Those who knew him would attest to his often sarcastic, quick witted humor that left us all laughing. Above all he relished the time he spent with his grandson Riley as Gardner was a kid at heart.

Gardner is survived by his daughter, Morgan-Lee Brooks and her husband Adrian of Sanford, ME; grandson Riley Brooks; siblings, Gordon L. Fowler, Jr. and his partner Ellen Mahoney of Merrimac, Gayle Lattime of Salisbury, Glenn Fowler and his wife Becky of East Kensington, NH, Garry Fowler and his wife Sarah of Rochester, NH, Gaylene Sulesky and her husband Dan of Seabrook, NH, and Gerard Fowler and his wife April of CA; his former partner, Tammy Jennings of Rowley, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his siblings, Gregory, Gayden, and Gene Fowler.

Family and friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday May 5, 2023 at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. Services and burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made on Gardner’s siblings Go Fund Me page posted on his siblings Facebook pages.

Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

There are two days in every week

about which we should not worry,

Two days which should be kept free of fear and apprehension.

One of these days is YESTERDAY, With its mistakes and cares,

Its faults and blunders,

Its aches and pains.

YESTERDAY has passed forever beyond our control.

All the money in the world cannot bring back YESTERDAY. We cannot undo a single act we performed;

We cannot erase a single word we said.

YESTERDAY is gone.

The other day we should not worry about is TOMORROW With its possible adversities, its burdens, its larger promise. TOMORROW is also beyond our immediate control.

TOMORROW, the sun will rise,

Either in splendor or behind a mask of clouds, But it will rise.

Until it does, we have no stake in TOMORROW For it is as yet unborn.

This leaves only one day - TODAY.

Anyone can fight the battles of just one day.

It is only when you and I add the burdens of those two awful eternities - YESTERDAY and TOMORROW -

That we break down.

It is not the experience of TODAY that drives us mad.

It is remorse or bitterness for something which happened YESTERDAY And the dread of what TOMORROW may bring.
