Gail Bukow Obituary

Gail Davison Bukow, 58, passed away November 27, 2021 in West Newbury MA. Gail, the youngest of three children, was born in Urbana, IL on January 29, 1963 to Jane and Hugh Davison. Gail graduated from high school in Oxon Hill MD and went on to attend the University of Georgia where she earned her BS in Recreational Management. Her career path as a young adult took her to the business world where she worked for Information Mapping, Inc. and CMGI excelling in account management.

Gail married George J. Bukow Jr. in 1995 and they made their home in West Newbury MA. As their two children were born Gail shifted her considerable gifts and energies from the corporate world to her home, church and community. Gail was a bright light in this world, having an impact on everyone she met. She had the gift of hospitality, never knew a stranger and opened her home to others, always making them feel welcome. Gail created spaces of beauty in her home and in the homes of others. An accomplished cook and conversationalist, you never left the Bukow home without the sense that you had been invited into something special.

Gail had a wonderful and diverse group of friends. The essence of who Gail was came from a deep place of faith rooted in her relationship with Jesus Christ. She had the unique gift of embracing others with the utmost love and respect regardless of their alignment with what she believed is true. Her love for others came from this place of faith and her life was lived as a beautiful expression of who God created her to be.

Gail was an active member at Bethany Church where she gave leadership to the Moms Connect Ministry for many years. Her outreach was deep and varied. In recent years her heart was invested in volunteering at the Pregnancy Care Center in Haverhill MA where she counseled new and expecting moms. She was also a longtime active member of PEO Sisterhood, holding the offices of President, Vice President and Chaplin throughout her years of service.

Gail was predeceased by her mother Jane B. Patterson; survived by her husband George; her two children Kylie and Tristan; her stepfather William Patterson; sister Debbie (Clinton) Brown; brother Hugh (Paula) Davison and a large extended family including many nieces and nephews and most recently great nieces and nephews.
