Frederick Dow, Jr. Obituary

Frederick James Dow, Jr. passed away Thursday morning September 8, 2022, at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington. He was born in Newburyport on November 24, 1949, to the late Frederick J. Dow, Sr., and Noma (Bridges) Eaton. He was raised and educated in Newburyport and attended Newburyport High School. Frederick enlisted in the U.S Marine Corps, obtained his GED, and served our country proudly during the Vietnam War until he was honorably discharged in 1970. Upon his return Frederick married the late Beverly (Nolan) Dow and the couple raised their family in Amesbury.

Frederick was employed his entire working career as a laborer for Bixby International Corporation in Newburyport until his retirement in 2000.

He was an avid hockey and football fan, watching and attending Bruins and Patriots games as often as possible, a love he passed on to his children and grandchildren.

Frederick is survived by his children, Jason Dow and his wife Sinead of Seabrook, and Kelley Lizotte and her husband Eric of Plaistow; grandchildren, Ryan and Megan Dow, and McKenzie Lizotte; sisters, Sharon Keenan, and Sharlene Nikodemus, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his siblings, Belinda Dow, and Lee Arron Dow.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday September 15, 2022, at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. THERE IS NO LONGER ANY PARKING AVAILABLE BEHIND THE FUNERAL HOME PER ORDER OF THE CITY OF NEWBURYPORT. His Funeral Service and burial with military honors will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery on Friday September 16, 2022, at 10:00 AM.
