Frederick Joseph Aloi Jr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025. Born on December 7, 1932, in Boston, MA, Fred was the beloved son of the late Frederick Sr. and Rose (Caruso) Aloi, and stepson of the late Gaetano Chiampa. He was predeceased by his brother Gregory Aloi and his sister Katherine Peva. He is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years Marceline Aloi, his son Jeffrey Aloi and wife Debora, and his daughter Victoria Curran and husband Patrick. Frederick was also a proud grandfather to Teresa Aloi, Alannah Curran, and Martin Curran, all of whom brought him immense joy and pride.
He graduated from Malden High School, attended Emerson College and Boston University and obtained a BS in communications. He was also a member of the Army National Guard and became a 1st Lieutenant. Frederick had many successful and fulfilling years working in executive careers. He was passionate about music and enjoyed playing and listening to Jazz. He was also an avid reader and loved history. He enjoyed woodworking and spent a great deal of time and energy remodeling. In the winters he would ski with his family. In his later years he enjoyed the pleasures of retirement on Plum Island where he cultivated a deep love for his family and friends.
Funeral Services to celebrate Frederick’s life will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. Family and friends are invited to call from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm at Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral home, 193 High Street, Newburyport. Frederick’s Funeral Mass will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church, 42 Green Street, Newburyport at 12:30 pm followed by burial at Oak Hill Cemetery in Newburyport. In lieu of flowers, you may send a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or your favorite charity in Frederick’s name.
