Frank Casey, Jr. Obituary

Frank succumbed to a Traumatic Brain Injury, as result of complications of Covid 19, surrounded by his wife and daughter at High Pointe House Hospice, Haverhill MA. on February 11, 2021. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts to Frank and Josephine (Mcgee) Casey, Sr. Franks formative years were spent in Troy New York where he attended Military School. Where he developed his core values of Honesty, Hardwork, Diligence, Trustworthiness, and above all else Love for his Family and Country. Franks love of stickball, baseball, football basketball is how he spent his days.

Franks family moved to Newburyport in 1943, he graduated  from Newburyport High School in 1947, lettering in both football and baseball. Shortly after graduation he enlisted in The Army, and is a Veteran of the Korean War. Following his service Frank returned to Newburyport in the 70s and enrolled in Northeastern University. Frank retired from New England telephone after 38 years of service as a Central Office Equipment Installer.

He married the late Sally Ann Johnson and made Newburyport their home. Frank served as Newburyport Ward 4 City Council from 1965-1969. He was involved in Urban Renewal which has made Newburyport the beautiful City it is today. Frank was involved in many charitable organizations, always giving back. After the untimely death of his wife in 1970, Frank became a single father. He wholeheartedly loved and guided his children and was always present for their achievements, wanting the best for them.

In 1982 Frank married his best friend and soulmate Suzanne Blunt, and made Plum Island their home. Both loving the beach. Frank always with a preverbal tan, and music playing in their home. Frank and Suzanne never missed a Red Sox or Patriots game. Their story was one of love from the first encounter. He was a voracious reader and history buff, and he would start and complete the Boston Globe crossword puzzle every Sunday.

Frank will always be remembered for "being a good man, and his keen sense of humor.” Frank adored and could be seen walking his great love. His puppy Mai Li.

Frank will always be loved and missed by, his wife Suzanne of Plum Island; daughter, Erin Casey- Kelly of Newburyport; grandsons, Ryan M. and wife Amanda Kelly of New Hampshire, Patrick F. Casey and fiancee Shantay Davis of Massachusetts; 3 great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. Frank was predeceased by his son Hugh G Casey; sisters Madeleine Parker and Claire Treadwell.

Services will be private. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950 is assisting Mr. Casey’s family with his arrangements.
