Francis "Frank" Serwon

Francis “Frank” Serwon died early Thursday morning March 23, 2023 at CareOne at Peabody. He was born in Amesbury on January 2, 1937 to the late Vincent and Jeannette (Yell) Serwon. Frank was raised and educated in Newburyport and was a graduate of Newburyport High School, where he was a standout athlete. Following his graduation Frank married Jeannette Stevens and the couple raised their family in Newburyport. He was employed for several years at Olde Towne Builders as well as being a Call Firefighter for the City of Newburyport. He was made a permanent Firefighter for Newburyport in 1971 and served the community until his retirement in 1996.

He was an active member of the Newburyport Boosters and was also on the Committee for the Newburyport Wall of Fame, as well as being inducted for his football achievements. He enjoyed  watching his boys and grandchildren participate in the sports they excelled in, as well as camping with his family. He also enjoyed traveling, especially to Aruba and the Bahamas.

Frank is survived by his wife of 67 years Dorothy (Stevens) Serwon of Newburyport; daughter, Barbara Comora and her husband Mike of Exeter, NH; grandchildren, Michael Comora, Jr. and his wife Sarah, and Stephen Serwon and his wife Stephanie; great grandchildren, Trevor, Ella, Camila, Hunter, and Annah; and daughter-in-law, Diane Serwon of Seabrook. Frank was predeceased by his 2 sons, Stephen and Robert Serwon.

Services and burial will be private. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950 is assisting Mr. Serwon’s family with his funeral arrangements.
