Everett “Chip” Davis, Jr. passed away Wednesday evening November 13, 2024 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital, NH. He was born in Haverhill, MA on October 30, 1936 to the late Barbara (Frascone) and Everett Davis, Sr.
Chip was raised and educated in Newburyport, before enlisting in the US Air Force. He served our country proudly during the Korean War before his honorable discharge in 1959. Upon his return from service he joined the family demolition business. He then married Brenda Brisson in 1964 and the couple’s settled in Salisbury to raise their family.
In 1973 Chip struck out and started his own Demolition Co. Chip Davis Building Wrecking, a business he Owned and Operated until his retirement in 2000.
He was a 3rd Degree Master Mason in St. Mark’s Lodge, and a member of the Aleppo Shriners of York, ME. He was also very involved in his community of Salisbury, a Part Time Police Officer for the Salisbury PD, a member of the Salisbury Historic Commission, and also served as the Salisbury Liquor Commissioner for a time. In his spare time he enjoyed traveling and camping with his family. Chip also enjoyed his morning coffee ritual with his buddies George, Charlie and Larry. Above all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Brenda (Brisson) Davis of Salisbury; children, Gregory Davis of Newmarket, NH, LeeAnne Davis of Salisbury, and Joseph Liberty and his partner Michael Tally of Florida; grandchildren, Gregory Davis, Jr., Chelsea Davis and her wife Michaela, and Emily Winnerman; great grandchildren, Jacob and Lillian Davis; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday November 21, 2024 at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. Services and burial will be private at a later date.
