Enis May, 84, passed away peacefully with her loving daughters by her side at the High Pointe House in Haverhill on Sunday July 22, 2018. She was born in Amesbury, MA on May 23, 1934 to the late Andrew and Maria (Rapisaldi) Tedoldi. Enis was raised and educated in Amesbury and was a graduate of Amesbury High School. She met and soon married Samuel E. May, Jr. and the couple enjoyed 59 years together until his passing in 2015.
Enis was employed over the years as a waitress by several area Coffee Shops, she was well known and loved by many of her friends and patrons. She was an avid reader especially mystery novels, and enjoyed watching the Food Network, Wheel of Fortune and Family Feud. She loved the trips to North Conway and Vermont taken with her family. Enis was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, nothing gave her greater joy than preparing Sunday dinner and that time spent with her family by the pool, especially with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Sheila Hedley and her husband Bryon of Nottingham, Aprell Twombly and her husband Gary of Newburyport, and Diann May and her husband Sean Perkins of Newburyport; grandchildren Samuel Shaw, Gary Twombly, Jr., Tracy Twombly, and Nathan Headley; great grandchildren, Iris and Cassidy Shaw, and Harrison Twombly; siblings, John Tedoldi and his wife Annette of Amesbury, and Mary Bean of Merrimac, as well as several nieces and nephews. A very special thank you is extended to Enis’ niece a Hospice Nurse, Michelle Tedoldi for the love and exceptional care given to her. Enis was pre deceased by brother Andrew Tedoldi, Jr.
Services and burial for Mrs. May will be private. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950 is assisting Mrs. May’s family with her funeral arrangements.
