Emile J. Guy

Emile J. Guy, 69, a resident of Plum Island died Thursday June 11, 2020 at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport. He was born on June 2, 1951 in Methuen, MA to the late Emile J. and Evelyn M. (Morin) Guy. He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, followed by Wentworth Institute of Technology. He concluded his education graduating from Wentworth College with his degree in Architectural Engineering. 

Emile was employed for over 30 years for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in Health Care Quality until his retirement in 2001. He then worked part time for the department for another 5 years.

He was a mentor for many years for Big Brothers Big Sisters, and was also served on the Board. Emile enjoyed volunteering his time driving seniors for errands and appointments in the Newburyport community. He also enjoyed playing 45’s, cribbage, and making stained glass windows and projects. Above all he loved spoiling his nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Emile is survived by his siblings, Marie Grantham and her husband George of Merrimack, NH, John R. Guy and his wife Christine of Portsmouth, NH, and Paul J. Guy and his wife Marie of Haverhill, MA; many nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

Mass at Immaculate Conception Church in Newburyport and entombment at St. Mary/Immaculate Conception Cemetery Mausoleum in Lawrence were held privately. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950 assisted Mr. Guy’s family with his funeral arrangements.
