Elvira "Libby" G. (Liberatore) Piecuch

Elvira “Libby” G. Piecuch, 96, of Newburyport, died May 7, 2019 at Hannah Duston Healthcare Center in Haverhill. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael J. Piecuch for 56 years.

She was born on December 4, 1922 in Newburyport, MA daughter of the late Charles and Angelina Liberatore.

Libby was a graduate of Newburyport High School, Class of 1940. Upon graduation from Burdett College, she worked for the War Department in Washington, DC for the duration of WWII. She was also employed for many years at Leary’s Beverages in Newburyport.

She was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church, a life member of the Golden Age Club as well as an avid candle pin bowler

She is survived by her 4 sons, John Piecuch and his wife Nancy of Haverhill, Tom Piecuch and his wife Peggy of Scituate, RI; Bob Piecuch and his wife Tori of Spokane, WA; and Dave Piecuch and his wife Joy of Haverhill, as well as 8 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

Family and friends may call on Monday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Church followed by burial at St. Mary Cemetery both in Newburyport.
