Elsie (Martellini) Dzioba, passed away peacefully March 25, at the age of 97, with her loving family by her side.
Elsie grew up in Newburyport and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, where she sang in the choir for many years. She was also a member of the Choral Society.
In her early years she worked at Towle Silver before starting a family. She held down several jobs in her lifetime and made many friends.
Elsie loved cross-stitching and gardening. She had a passion for crossword puzzles. You could always find her with a son or daughter cuddled on the couch going over the puzzles. She loved sitting on the back porch enjoying the sunshine.
Elsie was the daughter of the late Rocco and Maria Martellini. She is predeceased by her husband Edmund “Andy” Dzioba and her brother Clifford Martellini.
She leaves behind her sister Aurelia Quinn, her brother Eugene Martellini and her five children, Susan Cook, Sandra Lawson, Sharon Tucker, Sarah and Edmond Dzioba, four grandchildren and a great granddaughter.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Country Center for their continuous care.
Family and friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday March 30, 2023 at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Friday March 31, 2023 at Immaculate Conception Church, friends are asked to go directly to Church, followed by burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Dzioba’s name to Immaculate Conception Church 42 Green St. Newburyport, MA 01950.
