Elizabeth "Ellie" Bauer Obituary

Early this morning, Ellie went home to be with Jesus in heaven. Our hearts are so broken to be separated from her. Yet while her life here on earth has ended, her true life is just beginning—one without pain or sadness or the heavy burden of disease that she has carried so courageously and gracefully for these 4 years. We are still a family of 6, just one of us is in heaven. And we will reunite again someday.

She spent the last week resting peacefully in our bed at home, but before that, on the last night that she felt well enough, she painted this picture. It’s such a beautiful demonstration of her tender relationship with Jesus and is also a sweet word encouragement to us now.

Psalm 18:31-33
“For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God? It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he causes me to stand on the heights.”

I’m sure we will have more details to come, but we wanted you all to know now. Thank you for loving Ellie and our family so well.

❤️ Kate, for all the Bauers

-Saturday February 13, 11am-12:30pm, Oak Hill Cemetery Newburyport.

The Bauer family would love to see you all! With current circumstances the way they are, the creative solution has become a drive-through reception from 11-12:30 this Saturday.

We ask you enter Oak Hill Cemetery at the Brown St. Entrance. From there, follow signs around to where the Bauer’s will be gathered to see you all as you slow-roll past. We will have a table for cards and any sentiments you’d like to give them close by so they are sure to get them.

❤️❤️❤️

Ellie’s burial will be a private family event following the drive-through reception. Kate and Andy are already looking forward to a larger in-person celebration in the spring closer to Ellie’s birthday as a way to truly gather and be together. In the next day or so we will have a website up for you to share all your photos and videos and messages/stories/memories for the Bauer’s to have all in one place. Stay tuned for that link as well.

❤️❤️❤️

In lieu of flowers, Kate and Andy feel passionate about donating money in Ellie’s name to the child life team at Boston Children’s Hospital. Child life brought joy and comfort to Ellie and by extension, Kate and Andy.
