Edwin Hunt, Jr. Obituary

Edwin Hunt, Jr. of Salisbury, MA passed away on Sunday, June 1st at the age of 60. He leaves behind a legacy of levity and loyalty.

Ed was born at Anna Jaques in Newburyport and raised in Salisbury by Edwin Hunt Sr, and Barbara Hunt.  His sister, Jill, was disabled as a child and Ed went out of his way to serve her and cheer her up.  As a youth, he loved reading and playing sports, especially floor hockey and street hockey.  He participated on the golf, wrestling, football, and track teams at Triton Regional High School, where he graduated in 1982.  His academic career was cut short the following year, when he left Bentley University to help operate the family business. Ed spent more than 30 years working at Hunt’s Seafood on Salisbury Beach, serving local restaurants softshell clams.

He met his wife Allison in 1989 in Salisbury and they were married in 1991.  They raised two children, Dmitri, and Peyton, together on CCC Road in Salisbury with his parents and sister right next door.  He was a second father to Jill’s kids, Hunter, Jordan, and Dylan, and Jill was a second mother to his.  Ed coached Salisbury baseball and softball teams for over a decade, starting with his son and continuing to his youngest nephew, Dylan.  He spent even more time as a first base coach of the Rowley Rams, where Dmitri and Dylan played from 2012-2024.

His proudest achievements, however, came from his time in local independent professional wrestling promotions, where he was known as Uncle Eddie.  He honed his craft as a heel manager at Atlantic Pro Wrestling, where he was involved from the beginning with his lifelong friend Elwood Apt.

Edwin Hunt will be remembered as a guy with a good sense of humor, who was good with kids, and once bowled a 191 at Lafayette Lanes in Amesbury.
