Edward Ambrose Dunleavy

Edward Ambrose Dunleavy died on December 30, 2021. He was 91. He lived in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn, New York for over 80 years and later resided in Newburyport, MA to be closer to his children and grandchildren.

Edward leaves his wife, Virginia (Coleman) Dunleavy, his son and daughter-in-law Ned and Shannon Dunleavy, his daughter and son-in-law Kate and Josh Benthien, and grandchildren he so loved, Jack and Maggie Benthien, Colin Dunleavy and a grandson who will arrive in the spring.

Edward believed in God and his country and was proud of his Jesuit education. He loved his family and supported them as best he could. He was a quiet, modest, gentle man and God called him gently.

Family and friends may call on Monday January 3, 2022 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. THERE IS NO LONGER PARKING AVAILABLE BEHIND THE FUNERAL HOME PER ORDER OF THE CITY OF NEWBURYPORT. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 PM on Tuesday January 4, 2022 at Immaculate Conception Church in Newburyport, followed by burial at Oakgrove Cemetery in Medford.
