Donna M. Volpone

Donna M. Volpone of Newburyport, MA, 83, passed away at Anna Jacques Hospital on Friday, April 28, 2023.  Donna, a Newburyport native and NHS Class of 1956 graduate, received her Associate's degree as a Legal Secretary from the Chandler School of Business. She had a successful career working with law firms such as Hale and Dorr in Boston until retirement. Then she volunteered as a greeter for the City of Newburyport and helped the Chamber of Commerce at the voting booths during the elections for Ward 3. Donna enjoyed her retirement with family and friends. She loved to travel, going to Italy, Greece, Hawaii, and Washington State among others.  Her monthly luncheons with classmates “the girls” were always a highlight.  Donna preferred being behind the camera, capturing the family’s finest moments and get-togethers.  Her dry sense of humor, beautiful smile, and laugh will be greatly missed.

Donna was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Alice (Donovan) Volpone of Newburyport, and her brothers and sister-in-law Gerald and wife Jane of Newburyport, and Norman of Salisbury, MA.  She leaves four siblings: Charles of Scituate, Anne and her husband Jack Card of Brockton, Carlie and her late husband Raymond Lewis of Seabrook, NH, and Judy and her husband Robert Solazzo of Newburyport and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Arrangements have been made with Twomey, LeBlanc, and Conte Funeral Home in Newburyport.  In accordance with her wishes, a Funeral Mass will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church, 42 Green Street, Newburyport, on Tuesday, May 2nd at 10:30 a.m.   Burial immediately following Mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Newburyport, with a gathering held for close family and friends after.
