Derek K. Perry

Derek Kent Perry of Rowley, Massachusetts passed away unexpectedly on June 11, 2024 of complications due to diabetes. He was born on July 10, 1964 at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport, Massachusetts. He was raised in Newburyport and graduated from Newburyport High School class of 1983 where he played football and track and field. 

Derek worked as a heavy equipment operator at John D. Harnett & Sons, then as a production technician at Amesbury Group for 24 years, and later as an extrusion technician at ARC Technologies (now Hexcel Technologies) in Amesbury.

Derek was full of life and laughter. He enjoyed off-road four-wheeling, lobster trapping, rebuilding computers, online gaming, martial arts, hiking, camping, collecting movies, raising horses, attending monster truck rallies, and target shooting. He loved his pets Major, Laddie, Barkly, and Happy. He was a generous and loving son, father, brother, husband, uncle, and grandfather. He is survived by his sons Sean Perry of Salisbury, Gregory Perry of South Attleboro, and Anthony Kuffel of Rowley, his daughters Cassie Perry of Potsdam NY and Michelle Kuffel, his grandson Oliver, his brother Kurt Gray of Canton, his sisters Michelle Perry Burt of Exeter, NH and Julie Ghostlaw of Canton, his wife Darlene Kuffel of Rowley, and his mother Phyllis Gray of Newburyport. 

Family and friends are invited to Derek’s Funeral Service at Belleville Cemetery in Newburyport, Massachusetts, on Friday, June 21, 2024 at 10:00AM. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950 is assisting with his funeral arrangements.
