Denise Lydia (Willey) Gaudet

Denise Lydia (Willey) Gaudet of Newburyport Massachusetts passed away peacefully at Portsmouth Regional Hospital surrounded by her husband, children and family on April 23, 2025. 

Denise was born on March 23,1942 in Malden, MA. Denise worked a variety of jobs over the years, however her favorite was taking care of children. It saddened her when she had to retire due to health issues. Also included in her favorite pastimes was spending time with family and friends. Before her failing health, she looked forward to car rides along the Coast, driving through the back roads of the White Mountains, and Vermont. She loved going on Cruise vacations with her husband and meeting loved ones for breakfast.

Denise is survived by her loving husband, Robert Gaudet of 65 years and would be celebrating their 66 year anniversary in September, totaling almost 70 years together. Her two daughter’s Christine (Gaudet) Moore and her husband Bob Morse of Newburyport MA (who Denise considered a son), Renee Brace and her former husband Larry of Enfield CT, son Christopher Gaudet and his wife Amy of Merrimac MA. Three grandchildren, Johnathon Brace and his wife Carol of South Windsor CT, Elizabeth Hester of Enfield CT, and Christopher Morse of Newburyport MA. Five great grandchildren, Mikey, Stevie, Bobby, Christopher and Conrad. Brother, Roderick Willey of Saugus MA. Denise is pre deceased by her mother Evelyn Rita Willey, brothers Marlon Willey and Norman Willey. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, friends and her beloved cats Pal and Minnie. 

By request of the family, there will be no services. A celebration of life will be held at the West Newbury Congregational church Hall on Saturday September 20, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950 is assisting Mrs. Gaudet’s family with her arrangements.
