Dale Ann (Ratay) Kent

Dale Ann Kent, 75, of Newburyport passed away on January 5, 2025.

She was born in Newburyport, MA on May 14, 1949 and was the daughter of the late Fred Ratay and Glenda (Mottram) Smith, and step-father, Donald E. Smith.

Dale was employed over the years by several local restaurants. She loved to play Bingo, doing  puzzles, as well as listening to Elvis. She enjoyed camping and watching her grandsons race motocross. She loved spending time with her kids and grandkids.

Dale leaves three children, Francis (Curley) O’Brien of Newburyport, Maria Nixon of Kittery, ME, and Raymond O’Brien of Seabrook, NH; sisters, Cheryl Willard and her husband Raymond of Merrimac, Marion Kuse of Newburyport; 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Troy OBrien; her sister, Melody Kelley; and her brother James Smith.

Family and friends are invited to her Graveside Service at 1:00 PM on Friday January 10, 2025 at Oakhill Cemetery in Newburyport. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950 is assisting Mrs. Kent’s family with her arrangements.
