Constance Sheridan a resident of Newburyport passed away on Saturday morning August 10, 2024 at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill. She was born in Wakefield, MA on January 3, 1927 to the late Nelson Archorn and Margaret R. (Bucknam) Shaw.
She was raised in Stoneham and was a graduate of Stoneham High School. Following her graduation Constance was employed as a Bank Teller briefly before her marriage to the late Walter T. Sheridan in 1948, becoming a stay at home mom. The couple resided in Worcester for a time before settling in Newburyport to raise their family. Later on in life she became a Sales Representative for the family business distributing educational books.
In her spare time Constance enjoyed playing Bridge, tennis, and golf with family and friends. She also enjoyed oil painting and was a past president of the Chelmsford Art Society.
Constance is survived by her children, David Sheridan and his wife Shelly of Salisbury, Lawrence “Wally” Sheridan and his wife Pamela of Lowell, Jane Sheridan of New Market, NH, Michael Sheridan and his wife Anne of Phoenix, AZ, and Robert Sheridan of Newburyport; 11 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Phillip E. Shaw and her very special sister-in-law Ann M. Sheridan.
Family and friends may call from 1:00 to 4:00 PM on Wednesday August 14, 2024 at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950, her Service will be held in the Funeral Home following the calling hours at 4:00 PM. Burial will be private at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Sheridan’s name to the Veterans Charity of one's choice.
