Carolyn (Brown) Buckley

Carolyn (Brown) Buckley, 82, died Monday evening November 19, 2018 at High Point Hospice House in Haverhill, MA. She was born on January 14, 1936 to the late John James and Helen Agnes (Nice) Brown. She was a lifelong resident of Newburyport graduating from Newburyport High School.

In 1958 Carolyn married the late William M. Buckley, Sr. During that time she was a stay at home mom raising their family, until her children were older. She was then employed at AT&T formerly Western Electric until her retirement after 25 years of service. She enjoyed going to the Newburyport Senior Center to play cards with friends, traveling, knitting, playing Bingo and trips to Foxwoods. Spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great granddaughter brought her the most joy.

Carolyn is survived by her children, Joy Buckley, Robin LaPierre and her husband John, and William Buckley, Jr. all of Newburyport; grand children, Jamie and Brian Crowley, great granddaughter, Mariah Crowley; brother, Robert Brown; several nieces and nephews; and her best friend and “OLDER” sister in law, Joyce Sowder. In addition to her parents and husband, Carolyn was predeceased by her siblings, John James “Jackie” Brown, Jr; Virginia Cedar and Norman Brown.

Family and friends may call on Monday November 26, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. Parking available behind the Funeral Home. Her Funeral Service will be celebrated at 10:30 AM in the Funeral Home on Tuesday November 27, 2018. Burial will be private at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Carolyn’s name to the Council on Aging 331 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950.
