Candace Fisher Obituary

Candace “Candy” Fisher, 71, died peacefully at her home in Merrimac on Tuesday June 3, 2025.

She was born on June 28, 1953 to the late Ernest Pippy and Betty J. (Bigwood) Coffin in Everett, MA. Candy was a graduate of Everett High School.

In June of 1972 she married her husband Charles “Chucky” Fisher and was with him until his death in 2021. Together they had 3 children that they raised in Newburyport, MA.

Candy worked as a waitress for over 40 years. Mainly at Floramos and the Clubhouse Cafe, until her retirement.

She spent all of her life raising and nurturing her children and grandchildren, who she was still raising at the time of her death. Family was her life and everyone loved Nana.

Her “happy place” was at Sunset Lake. Most days you would find her sitting at the end of the dock enjoying the peace and calmness it brought her throughout her life. She enjoyed waterskiing and floating with the girls.

At home you could find her in her room reading, watching crime shows, or cuddling with whichever grandchild was in her bed that day.

She is survived by her children, Brandie Fisher of Merrimac, MA, Charles Fisher of North Andover, MA, and Heidi Hess of Shapleigh, ME. Her grandchildren who she lived with and raised, Felicia Falco and her husband Kevin, Demetrios Thornton and his beautiful partner Jordyn, Skylar Fisher, Paige Fisher, Amanda Ryan and her sons Jaxson Fisher and Kaiden Fisher. Her great grandchildren, Madison, Elena, Austin, and Hope. She had an extremely close bond with her sisters, Carrie O’Halloran and her husband Paul and Valerie Jenkinson and her husband Jay. She also became a sister for the first time when her mother remarried her stepfather Richard Coffin, to Ricky, Joyce, and Donny. She was predeceased by her husband Chuck, her father Ernie, her mother Betty, her stepfather Dick, her daughter-in-law Ashley, and her grandson Colin.

Candy was “Ma” or “Nana” to each and every friend, family, or stranger who walked through her door. She will be greatly missed by everyone.
