Brian Buia, 73, a resident of Plum Island-Newbury, MA passed away Saturday afternoon, February 3, 2024 at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport. He was born in Lawrence, MA on March 19, 1950 to the late Stanley and Genevieve (Makarewicz) Buia. Brian was raised and educated in Lowell, MA and was a graduate of Lowell High School. He continued his education at the University of Lowell, graduating with his Masters Degree in Environmental Engineering and then obtained his Professional Engineer license. Brian was employed at United Engineers in Boston for several years before starting his own Engineering firms, Apple Associates and Realworks, until his retirement in 2021. He enjoyed kayaking, being on the beach, fishing, and above all, spending time with his grandchildren.
Brian is survived by his wife of 43 years, Helen (Mederios) Buia of Newbury; daughters, Ashley Buia and her husband Matthew Bronstein of Reading, and Jacqueline Buia and her husband Sean Rogers of Haverhill; grandchildren, Adrianna and Myla Bronstein, and Charlie Rogers; siblings, Ronald Buia and his wife Carlene of Andover, and Brenda Farnsworth of Methuen; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call from 11:00 to 1:00 PM on Saturday February 10, 2024 at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. Services will be private.
