Anne M. Smith

Anne M. (Kneeland) Smith, passed away on November 5, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 10, 1964 to the late Robert Kneeland and Angela (Capron) Kneeland. Anne was born and raised in Ipswich, MA. and was a graduate of Ipswich High School class of 1983, and attended Northern Essex Community College. She had a meaningful career at the Massachusetts Department of Revenue up until her devastating cancer diagnosis in 2009.

She married the love of her life David Smith and they went on to have a beautiful marriage of 33 years. They made a home in Amesbury where they raised their two children Samantha and Matthew. Anne’s love for her family was never ending. She recognized her family as her greatest blessing and purpose.

Anne’s strength and resilience was an inspiration to so many. Anne enjoyed spending time with loved ones and friends.

Anne is survived by her husband, David Smith of Amesbury, her daughter Samantha Smith and her partner John Vasque of Salem, NH,  her son Matthew Smith and his partner Emily Nash of Amesbury, her sister Tracee Kneeland and her husband Eric Swanson of Boxford, her sister Robyn Cohen and her husband Joseph Cohen of Encinitas, CA, her sister Catherine White and her fiance Joseph Kudzma of Amesbury. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, great nephews, and great nieces and other special family members and longtime friends.

Family and friends may call from 1:00 to 4:00 PM on Sunday November 12, 2023 at the Twomey, LeBlanc & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Monday November 13, 2023 at St. Andre Bessette Parish 2 School St. Amesbury. Friends attending Anne’s Mass are asked to go directly to Church on Monday. Her burial will follow Mass at Mt. Prospect Cemetery in Amesbury.

Memorial contributions may be made in Anne’s name to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
