Anne (Chaput) Powers

Surrounded by her loving family, Anne Chaput Powers, age 88, passed away in Haverhill, MA on April 28, 2025. Anne was born in Pittsfield, MA, to the late Paul and Rose Chaput. She graduated from Reading High School and in 1957, she married Fredrick S Powers Jr. They raised five children in Andover, MA.

Anne spent most of her life as a homemaker. When she finally went back to work, she was a bus driver and a sales representative at Young Fashions in Andover. When she and Frederick moved to Kittery, Maine, she worked at a Lenox China Store for many years.

Over several decades, Anne and Fred owned dozens of boats along the Merrimack River. They also spent nearly 20 years wintering at the Village of Holiday Lakes in Port Charlotte, FL. Affectionately known as Nannie, Anne enjoyed playing games with her grandchildren and hitting the Casino with Fred (and always winning).

Anne will be greatly missed by her children MaryAnne (Powers) and her husband John Ronan of Wolfeboro, NH, Doreen Powers of Atkinson, NH, Christine Powers of Haverhill, MA, Kathleen (Powers) Amesoeder of Andover, MA, and Michael and his wife Karen Powers of Haverhill, MA; and sister-in-law Dolores Hewett of Salem, NH; her grandchildren, Jennifer John Timothy, Kristin, Stacy, Victor, Brielle, Philip, Sam and Mitchell, her five great- grandchildren; and her beloved black labrador retriever, Molly.

The Powers family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Benchmark Senior Living at Haverhill Crossings and High Pointe House in Haverhill.

Calling hours are Monday, May 5, 2025 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home, 193 High Street, Newburyport, MA 01950. Her Celebration of Life Mass will be Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 10:30 am at Immaculate Conception Church, 42 Green Street, Newburyport, MA 01950. The burial will be private at a later date.
