Ann Hickey Obituary

Newbury, MA – Ann Hickey passed away peacefully at the High Pointe (hospice) House in Haverhill, MA this past Monday, surrounded by loving family members.  Born and raised in Lawrence, MA she was the daughter of the late Timothy and Catherine (Walsh) Toohig.

She was a graduate of St. Patrick’s High School, class of 1948.

She and her husband Bill made a loving home for their family out on Plum Island; and there she has lived for over 55 years.

She is survived by nine children, thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Also surviving are a brother, Michael Toohig of McLean, VA and four sisters: Mary Valcourt and Catherine McCarthy of Lawrence, Eileen Mueller of Cicero, NY and Sister Elizabeth Toohig SC of East Islip, NY.

Ann was predeceased by her husband, William R. Hickey Sr. and two older brothers John Toohig and the Reverand Timothy Toohig SJ.

She will be missed more than words can express.  Our hearts are heavy with sadness for the loss of such a wonderful soul.

Family and friends may call on Monday January 21, 2019 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Church followed by burial at St. Mary Cemetery both in Newburyport.
