Regina Catherine Byrne (née Fellona) passed away June 6, 2019.
Born August 22, 1931, and raised in Philadelphia by her parents Ruth and Joe, she enjoyed a close, loving relationship with her sister Ruth. Post-high school, Jeanne was employed as a secretary; she and her friends enjoyed going to the Phillies games and watching the “Whiz Kids”. Jeanne married Mark Mullee Byrne in 1956, and subsequently raised seven children in a loving and nurturing environment while residing in PA, DE, WV, CT, and MA. Jeanne and Mark were married for 37 years before Mark passed in 1993. Jeanne, having lost her best friend, reinvented herself and made her home in Amesbury in Whittier Meadows, near family and among many new, great friends. Jeanne lovingly is remembered by her children as a fun, devoted and loving mother, as well as a woman with great wit, a goofy sense of humor, wonderful love of words, books and someone who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life.
Jeanne is survived by her seven children, seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter as well as extended family of nephews and nieces. The family extends its gratitude to the Masconomet Healthcare Center staff for their compassionate care of Jeanne.
Family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Friday June 14, 2019 at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. THERE IS NO LONGER ANY PARKING AVAILABLE BEHIND THE FUNERAL HOME PER ORDER OF THE CITY OF NEWBURYPORT. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church following the visitation at 11:30 AM followed by burial at St. Mary Cemetery in Newburyport.
