Paul Damien Turbide was born on October 15, 1947 in Newburyport, Massachusetts to George Turbide and Catherine Burns. He grew up in Newburyport, attending the French School and Newburyport High School. After graduating, he attended Franklin Institute of Boston where he received his Associate Degree. He then earned a fellowship at Tufts University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
Paul held licenses as a Professional Engineer and Professional Land Surveyor and was the founder and President of Port Engineering. He was also a Rotarian for many years. Paul retired circa 2007 and later moved to Vero Beach, Florida where he lived until he moved back to Newburyport in August 2017. Paul enjoyed working, golfing, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
He is preceded by his parents, and his son, Taylor Paul Turbide. He is survived by his other son, Derek Damien Turbide, his sister, Anne Rossi, his brother, Bill Turbide, and his eleven grandchildren, as well as his former wife Sandra (Price) Turbide.
Family and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM on Thursday September 20, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will be private at a later date. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950 is assisting Mr. Turbide’s family with his funeral arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Paul’s name to Immaculate Conception Church 42 Green St. Newburyport, MA 01950.
