Patricia K. (Chaisson) Fern

Patricia K. (Chaisson) Fern, 86, a former Newburyport, MA resident, passed away following a lengthy illness, at The Oxford Rehabilitation & Health Care Center on October 18, 2019.

Born in Woburn, MA, daughter of the late Arthur and Irene (Froton) Chaisson, she moved to Newburyport as a child, where she resided for the majority of her life.

Remembered by most as ‘Grammy Pat’, Patricia most recently enjoyed doing word searches and watching television. In her younger years, Patricia loved gardening, yard work, visiting with her very large family, and attending church.

Patricia was predeceased by her beloved husband Oscar C. Fern, brother Gilbert Chaisson and sister Suzanne Reed.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her two children; son Eric Fern with wife Gail Fern, and Patricia’s daughter Paula Fern; four grandchildren, Kristen Chavez and husband Pablo Chavez, Jamie Welch and husband Joseph Welch, Eric Fern Jr, as well as Jennifer Young and husband Christopher Young. Patricia is also survived by nine siblings as well as several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to her graveside service at 11:00 AM on Tuesday October 29, 2019 at Oakhill Cemetery in Newburyport. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950 is assisting Mrs. Fern’s family with her funeral arrangements.
