Norman Boudreau Richard, 77, died unexpectedly in Amesbury on December 3, 2019. He was born in Newburyport on November 26, 1942 to the late Isabelle A. (Richard) and Raymond B. Richard, Sr. Norman was raised and educated in Newburyport and was a graduate of Newburyport High School. Following his graduation he enlisted the U.S Army and served our country proudly in Korea for three years on the Demilitarized zone South and North Korea. Upon his return home Norman continued his education graduating from East Coast Aero-tech.
He was employed for several years as a mechanic for Eastern Airlines, followed by U.S. Airway until his retirement in 2004. In his retirement years Norman was employed part time at the Home Depot in Plaistow, NH and enjoyed seeing antique car events. In his younger years he was a competitive bowler and enjoyed ice skating and hockey.
Norman is survived by his brother, Fr. Raymond B. Richard, Jr. a missionary in Honduras, Central America for almost 44 years. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his younger brother Henry B. Richard in 1983.
Family and friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 AM on Friday December 13, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Church. His Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 AM with burial at St. Mary Cemetery. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport 01950 is assisting Mr. Richard’s family with his funeral arrangements.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Norman’s name to the initial formation program for the young Capuchins in the Our Lady of Hope Custody of the Capuchin Order in Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador, in care of Immaculate Conception Church 42 Green Street Newburyport, MA 01950.
