Neilson D. “Skip” Conover, 87, of Georgetown, Massachusetts, passed away on October 31, 2018, following a brief illness.
He was born on July 19, 1931 in Orange, New Jersey, and came to Massachusetts in 2004 after living in Sarasota, Florida and Northport, Maine.
Skip was a longtime resident of Westfield, New Jersey, where he, along with his wife, the late Joyce (Ohlson) Conover, proudly raised four children.
He retired from Tenneco Oil Company as a wholesale petroleum sales representative. Skip served in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Fleet Marine Corps as a hospital corpsman during the Korean War.
He is survived by three sons, N. Craig Conover of Portland, Oregon; Bruce B. Conover of Newburyport, Massachusetts; Todd D. Conover of West Newbury, Massachusetts; a daughter, Kirsten A. Conover (Springer) of Grafton, Massachusetts; and nine grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the caregivers and staff members at Country Center for Health and Rehabilitation, and Merrimack Valley Hospice.
A private service will be held at Twomey, LeBlanc & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, Massachusetts.
