Mary Beth Damon Obituary

Mary Beth (Finnegan) Damon, 52, wife of Winslow “Win” Damon, and mother to Taylor Knapp and husband Mark of Natick, passed on to the Lord on May 24, 2019 following a courageous year long battle with pancreatic cancer.  Born on February 4, 1967 she was the daughter of Leo and Linda Finnegan of Newburyport. She was a graduate of Immaculate Conception grammar school and graduated from Newburyport High School in 1985. She also graduated from Burdett College in Boston which led her into her original career in retail. Her favorite retail job was at the Celtic Corner at Leary’s. It was while working there she met her husband, Win, and the two were married in 1997.

At the time of her death she was employed as the Financial Coordinator for the Amesbury Housing Authority where she could be found at her desk just two weeks prior to her passing. Mary Beth enjoyed crocheting, hanging out with family and friends, and especially assisting those of her clients at AHA who needed a little extra help.

In addition to her husband, daughter, and parents, Mary Beth is also survived by her siblings Paula Green and husband Alan of Amesbury, Peter Finnegan and wife Lisa, Kevin Finnegan and wife Bettyann all of Newburyport. She also leaves her nieces Cassandra Green, Danielle Green, Amanda Beers and husband Alex, Michela Finnegan, nephews Patrick Finnegan and fiance’ Zalekha Shair, Michael Finnegan and Matthew Finnegan. In addition she leaves her latest tag along and dancing buddy Emilia Finnegan Patel, her great niece.

When asked what she would like her obituary to say she responded : list my whole family by name,  how much I love them and how much they meant to me. Well said, MB.

The family would especially like to thank the staff of Care Dimensions of Danvers for their loving attention to Mary Beth’s needs over the past year.
