Mark D. Luedke, MD, FACR

Mark D. Luedke, MD, FACR, 62 passed away at Massachusetts General Hospital surrounded by his family and friends on January 14, 2018.

Mark was born March 17, 1955 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin to Donald and Jenny Luedke. Mark received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Macalester College in 1977 and his Medical Degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1981. Following his Radiology Residency at Lahey Clinic, Mark pursued a Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital to specialize in Neuroradiology. Since 1989 Mark has been an asset to the greater Manchester area Medical community. Over the course of his career he embraced giving his time serving as Radiology Chairman and VP of the Elliot Hospital Medical Staff and President of the New Hampshire Radiology Society.  In 2008, Mark received the degree of Fellow from the American College of Radiology. Prior to his diagnosis of cancer, he served as Medical Director of Radiology at Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough, NH.

Mark resided in New Boston, NH for the last 28 years with his wife Rhonda. Mark was loved and respected by his family, friends and colleagues for a life defined by integrity, caring, compassion, and for being a true gentleman.  He was an inspiration to the many lives he touched in both his professional and personal life.

Some of Mark’s many hobbies included bee keeping, wok cooking, mastering bread baking and making sausage, apple cider, growing mushrooms, making beer and boating. He dabbled as a gentlemen farmer raising a couple of cows and horses. Developed his own “Victory Garden” and was known to dig up more than a few boulders with his excavator. His love for nature and the outdoors inspired his true passions in life, fly fishing and photography. With an eye for beauty and attention to detail, he naturally mastered the art of fly tying.  But most of all he enjoyed the journey and enriching memories made with family and friends. Mark was always the best man he could be and will forever be loved and missed.

Mark was predeceased by his mother Jenny Luedke and uncle Walter Pfister. Survivors include his loving wife Rhonda of 39 years, son Jeff (Beata) Luedke, daughter Janelle (Bryan) Ring, grandson Joshua Luedke, father Don Luedke, sister Ann (Tom) Baiocchi, brother Kurt (Karen) Luedke; as well as his aunt Alice (Don) Auty, aunt Pat Pfister, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues.

Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 10, 2018, 12:30pm, at Congregational Church, 14 Titcomb St., Newburyport, MA. A celebration of Life will follow from 1:00-4:00pm, at Mission Oak Grill, 26 Green St., Newburyport, MA. Public parking available, Green Street Municipal Lot, Newburyport, MA
