Louis John Guarracina

Louis John Guarracina, 44, a resident of Newburyport, died on September 12, 2018 in Chatham, MA. He was born on November 29, 1973 in Bronx, NY to Rita (D’Onofrio) Guarracina and Anthony Guarracina. Raised and educated in New York, Lou was a graduate of both St. Raymond's High School and Manhattan College where he received a Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering.

Lou was the Founder and Chief Technology Officer of HighRes BioSolutions. He was a visionary and pioneer in the field of laboratory automation and robotics.  While in his spare time, Lou enjoyed fishing and cooking, nothing gave him more more pleasure in life than being a father to his two sons, Eric (16) and Luca (12).

Louis is survived by his mother; his wife Kristen Anne Dermody Guarracina of Newburyport; sons Eric and Luca; siblings, Deborah Ciaffaglione and her husband Ronald, Toni Marie Maio and her husband William, Anthony Guarracina and his wife Melinda, Gina Maio and her husband Steven; nieces and nephews, William, Ronald, Michael, Christopher, Amanda, Lisa, Megan, Steven and Nicholas.

Family and friends may call on Sunday September 16, 2018 from 1:00 to 5:00PM at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. Parking is available behind the Funeral Home. Services and burial will be private.
