Joyce Elizabeth (Mooradian) Duncan

Joyce Elizabeth Duncan, 68, died unexpectedly at her residence in Newburyport on December 6, 2019. She was born in Whitinsville, MA on October 12, 1951 to Margaret (DerManoogian) Mooradian and the late Aram Mooradian. She was raised in Danvers and was a graduate of Danvers High School, she continued her education graduating from North Shore Community College. It was there that she met the late Bruce C. Duncan and the couple were married in 1972. They settled in Newburyport where they raised their family. 

Joyce was primarily a stay at home mom. She was employed part time as a Teachers Aide at Triton Regional High School for several years. Joyce loved reading, writing, and discussing politics. She also enjoyed classic movies, and watching British Comedies, but above all she cherished time spent with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. 

Joyce is survived by her mother, Margaret (DerManoogian) Mooradian of Danvers; son, Brett Duncan and his wife Sarah of Hubbardston, MA; grandchildren, Bria and Erik Duncan; brother, Vee Mooradian of Danvers; aunt, Ann Derr of Newburyport; cousins, Jeffrey Derr of Amesbury, Laurie Mello of Nottingham, NH, Debbie DerManoogian of Goffstown, NH, and Steven DerManoogian of Nashua, NH; as well as many more wonderful family and friends over the years.

Family and friends are invited to her Funeral Service at 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. THERE IS NO LONGER ANY PARKING AVAILABLE BEHIND THE FUNERAL HOME PER ORDER OF THE CITY OF NEWBURYPORT. Burial will be private at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Joyce’s name to Friends of Newburyport Council on Aging 331 High Street Newburyport, MA 01950.
