Jonathan D. Chretien

Jonathan D. Chretien, age 25, passed away unexpectedly in Framingham, MA on January 16, 2018.   He was the beloved son of David Chretien and Dorothy Flynn Chretien of Salisbury, MA.  Jon was born on October 22, 1992 in Newburyport, Massachusetts.  He was a member of the Newburyport High School Class of 2011 and couldn’t wait to see what the world was all about.   

He was an avid “gamer” and enjoyed engaging his friends in online competition in “World of Warcraft”.   A fun loving guy, he enjoyed attending concerts and went whenever he had a chance.  His true passion, however, was his love of cooking which he shared with his Mom.  He took great pride and joy in his culinary creations.   He was employed at several local restaurants including the Sea Glass Restaurant at Salisbury Beach where he honed his culinary skills and most recently took a position at the Angry Ham’s Grille in Framingham.  He had hopes of opening his own restaurant one day.   

He was an animal lover just like his Dad, inspired by weekend camping trips with him when he was child.  Jon was a very warm and friendly person who welcomed a good conversation and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.   He will be remembered as a very respectful young man, protective of his family and friends with a wide smile and happy demeanor.  A young man with a big heart, big dreams and an open mind taken far too soon.  He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Jonathan is survived by his parents, David Chretien and Dorothy Flynn-Chretien of Salisbury, MA; his paternal Grandfather, Roland D. Chretien of Salisbury; his Aunt Cindy Heath and Uncle Sean Flynn both of Newmarket, NH and many more aunts, uncles and cousins.   

Family and friends may call on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home, 193 High Street, Newburyport, MA. Parking available behind the Funeral Home. His Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Newburyport, MA. Burial will be private at a later date.
