John M. Deneumoustier

John M. Deneumoustier, 84, died on August 15,  2017 at Penacook Place in Haverhill, MA.  He was born in Quebec, Canada, on June 22, 1933, the son of the late Modeste and Alice (Doucet) Deneumoustier.

 A graduate of Inverness High School, John worked as a shoe salesman & manager all his life,  most recently at Hyman’s in Newburyport, MA until he retired.  He married Theresa Besner in 1957 and they had five children. 

John, a.k.a. “Duke” or “John D”,  enjoyed playing baseball in his younger years, and candlepin bowling.  He bowled in many leagues at Lafayette Lanes, Baldinelli’s, & Leo’s in Amesbury, MA.  He loved watching The Boston Bruins, the Red Sox, NE Patriots,  and the Celtics.   He had a kindness for animals, and adored his dogs Cinder, Bo, & Brandy. 

He is survived by his wife, Theresa of Newburyport, MA; daughter, Sheree McMurry and husband Ken of Florida; son, John A. Deneumoustier and wife Estelle of NH; daughter, Karen Pouliot and husband Mike of NH; daughter, Donna Thompson and husband John of MA; and daughter, Kim Reid and husband Douglas of NH; four grandchildren, Alyssa & Monica Pouliot and Kristen & Joshua Reid; one brother, Jerry of MA and  and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, Aug. 20th from 3 to 6 pm at Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home, 193 High St., Newburyport, MA. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, Aug. 21st at 10:30 am at the Immaculate Conception Church, located on Green St., Newburyport, MA.  Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Newburyport.
